Happy National Candy Day! [November 4th]
Posted by Sandy on Nov 4th 2022
I know…it feels like we just celebrated all things candy a few days ago. You didn’t eat your kid’s Halloween candy did you?? Maybe the curse of leftover Halloween candy is why we’re celebrating today?
Actually, National Candy Day is celebrated in the United States and began sometime in the early 1900s. It may have been the idea of a candy maker at the time. Pretty clever marketing plan.
Candy, however, has been around almost as long as we have. Many ancient cultures had a version of the sweet treat, often using fruits, nuts and flowers.
Even if the origin of the holiday is a little fuzzy, I’ll do my part. I'm always up for a bit of chocolate, preferably dark.
What’s your favorite candy?
